Medical Marijuana

Dorothy LaCombe Adult Healthcare Nurse Practitioner PLLC recognizes that there are risks with prescribing opioids for pain relief related to all medical disciplines. Pain and discomfort are endemic in the Rheumatoid Spectrum of diseases and conditions. There is a nationally recognized issue with opioid addiction in the US whereby opioid related deaths (both street and medical combined) have tripled since 1999. Alternatives such as medical marijuana may offer relief of pain for some patients without the addictive side effects of opioids. Dorothy LaCombe NP supports holistic and alternative approaches to treating patients. Medical Marijuana falls under that philosophy and should be used for medical purposes only. Any patient not meeting the strict standards or who is deemed unfit based on inappropriate requests or behaviors will immediately be disqualified.

To be considered for a medical marijuana prescription you must meet the following criteria:

1. Be over age 21
2. Have a referral from a physician with a qualifying diagnosis
3. Have good mental hygiene and life balance

Cost: $100 + insurance fees with a 1-visit certification and $100 for renewal+insurance fees. The fees are no longer cash only.
